Fret not! We've got you covered with our top 5 fashion picks to keep you cool, trendy, and effortlessly chic during this scorching heatwave.

1. Embrace the Summer Blazer:

A blazer is a versatile staple that should grace every fashionista's wardrobe this summer. Don't reserve it for colder seasons; blazers can be your go-to when heading to work or a stylish day out. Opt for any color blazer paired with straight-cut pants for an elegant and polished look.

2. "Old Money" meets Quiet Luxury:

Channel your inner "it girl" like Sofia Richie, who has taken the fashion world by storm. She effortlessly blends preppy and glamorous styles, inspiring a trending TikTok sensation. Embrace this trend by incorporating elements of "old money" and quiet luxury into your outfits for an undeniably amazing look.

3. What never goes out of style? The Maxi Skirt:

Bid farewell to any past disdain for maxi skirts because they are back in a big way. Thanks to Instagram and TikTok, maxi skirts have become a summer essential. Pair them with a crop top or a cute summery blouse for an effortlessly stylish ensemble. Not only are maxi skirts trendy, but they also offer unparalleled comfort.

4. Bloom in Floral:

Floral patterns are blooming everywhere this summer, making them a must-have in your wardrobe. Capture the '90s vibe with a floral dress adorned with slim straps. Opt for a silhouette that effortlessly floats, providing a refreshing and cooling effect on the hottest days. A sweetheart neckline adds a touch of sweetness to your look. Remember, you can never go wrong with a floral dress or top.

5. You don’t need a Boyfriend to wear an Oversized Shirt:

An oversized shirt is a timeless favorite that never goes out of style. For a casual everyday look, leave your oversized shirt untucked and pair it with straight-leg jeans or shorts and trainers. If you prefer a more polished appearance, try an oversized shirt with straight-cut pants and loafers for a smarter take on this trendy piece.

With these 5 fashionable tips, you can beat the heatwave while looking effortlessly chic. Embrace the summer blazer, channel the "old money" vibe, rock the maxi skirt, flaunt floral patterns, and don't forget to add an oversized shirt to your wardrobe. Stay cool, stylish, and on-trend throughout the scorching summer days.

Eurydice’s Last Words

by Kate Bradley I do not want to return To sit in the stalls, Of an empty black box Strewn with petals Leave the ghost light on, Let it shine like a call home, But I will not come back To turn it off alone. I learn this as we walk Our ever so solemn path Our thudding funeral march, You think we’re going back. As I trace my old steps, I fear of the day When the symphony swells, And I land my gaze On you, yet you will be Enraptured by the sound, If you did twist To turn around, You would not see me. So I am not sorry, I speak out into the empty air And I am not sorry. “Turn Around.” You do, you look You think  I fall But I run on, Arms wide open To fall in love With it all “Perhaps she was the one who said, ‘Turn around.” On the X45 bus, back from the Tyneside Cinema, I wrote a poem entitled “Eurydice’s Final Words”, after having seen “Portrait of a Lady on Fire”.  That poem was terrible, so I wrote a new one, as my response to the beautifully poignant film.  In one scene, Héloïse, an 18

Single Review: ‘Tell Me’ - Jay Moussa-Mann

by Ilana Hawdon The feeling of pure betrayal and heartbreak is perfectly captured in Jay Moussa-Mann’s latest single, ‘Tell Me’. Jay Moussa-Mann is the folk dream we have been waiting for. A favourite on BBC Introducing, Radio 6 and BBC Radio Tees, Jay ’s sound is easy on the ears but delightfully addictive. With a background in writing and film, she began her solo musical venture when she released her debut album, ‘Little Deaths’ in late-2019, and since then, Moussa-Mann has defined herself as an artist with unbelievable range and promise.    ‘Tell Me’ is completely timeless; with notes of Carole King and Joni Mitchell, Moussa-Mann creates a folk-inspired track which is simultaneously heart wrenching and strangely empowering. Beginning as a simple guitar tune, ‘Tell Me’ builds with layers of luscious strings and twinkling piano, tied together with Jay ’s vocal line which is equal parts melancholic and divine. The song feels unwaveringly intimate; the lyrics ask, ‘what was I worth?’
