Eras Tour Style Guide Part Two: Reputation, Lover, Folklore, Evermore, Midnights, and The Tortured Poets Department

by Tia Janowski

From shimmering bodysuits to nostalgic skirts reminiscent of your teenage years, the outfit possibilities for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour are as endless as they are exciting.

In this next instalment of our style guide, we’re diving into everything from the edgy allure of Reputation to the whimsical haze of Lover. Whether you’re aiming for a bold fashion statement or a subtle nod to your favourite era, we’ve got you covered.

Reputation

Reputation, a personal favourite, offers a plethora of stylish options. This era is luckily defined by two key elements: the colour black and an edgy style, making it relatively easy to find a suitable outfit. A little black dress paired with dark makeup and red lipstick instantly screams Reputation. Enhance the look with snake earrings, an arm cuff or snake print tights with chunky black boots for an iconic ensemble. For a more casual look, black leather or oversized trousers with a sexy lace top would work wonderfully. If you’re comfortable with showing a bit more skin, a black bodysuit, which you could bedazzle for extra sparkle, paired with sheer tights, perfectly channels Taylor’s iconic Reputation bodysuits from the original tour.

Lover

As the name suggests, Lover is all about romance and is often associated with an array of pastel colours. Anything pink, no matter the shade, and anything cute, no matter the style, fits the Lover era, making it very easy to find options from charity shops, mainstream stores or even your wardrobe. You could embrace the album’s colour scheme with a puffy pastel dress or a pink corset top and light blue jeans paired with heart accessories. You can tie the look together with

a heart shape around one eye using makeup or gems to echo the album cover. Another option if you want to show a bit more skin is to recreate Swift’s look in the ‘You Need to Calm Down’ music video with a pink fluffy coat (you can skip this if your show’s in the summer), a pale pink bikini top and pink hot pants. To complete the ensemble, you could do a fancy updo and wear pearl heart-shaped earrings to reflect the original look.

We’ve now covered three more albums, leaving Folklore, Evermore, Midnights and of course, The Tortured Poets Department, which we will be exploring next. Don’t forget that accessories are essential for the Eras Tour, so make your friendship bracelets and have fun with your makeup. For many of us, the Eras Tour is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, so don’t be afraid to make the most of it.

Eras Tour style guide- part three: Fashion inspirations for FolkloreEvermoreMidnights and The Tortured Poets Department

From cosy cardigans to full-on-glam, Taylor Swift’s latest albums offer a treasure trove of fashion inspiration, ensuring you’ll find the perfect look for the Eras Tour.

Still searching for your perfect outfit? Don’t worry as in this final instalment of our Eras Tour style guide, we’re exploring the natural styles of Folklore and Evermore, the glitz and glamour of Midnights and of course, the old Hollywood elegance of The Tortured Poets Department.

Folklore

Folklore as an album is all about a natural, relaxed aesthetic. This era channels a whimsical, natural vibe with midi dresses, cardigans, and bohemian touches. Inspired by the hit single, ‘Cardigan’, you could opt for wearing the classic Folklore cardigan, or something similar, paired with blue jeans and a white lace top. For a more ethereal touch, you could wear a long or midi dress in natural colours such as moss green, pale pink or an off-white to reflect Swift’s Folklore dresses from the Eras Tour. Bohemian or corseted midi dresses with flared sleeves would also fit perfectly with the Folklore theme and could easily be found in any of your favourite vintage or second-hand stores. Complement the outfit by styling your hair in messy low buns or plaits adorned with bows to capture the essence of the era.

Evermore

Being sister albums, Evermore shares a similar aesthetic with Folklore, but with a more autumnal twist. Embrace dark oranges, browns, and greens in again, bohemian or corseted midi dresses. The album’s witchy vibe that sets it apart from its sister, Folklore, is highlighted by dark green capes on the Eras Tour. Recreate Taylor’s look from the ‘Willow’ performance with a dark cape over a brown or orange mini dress with flared sleeves. For a touch of glamour, a brown sparkly dress fits the bill, reflecting those we see Swift wear herself during the original Evermore set. Again, weather permitted but you could wear a burnt orange tartan coat or shirt with wide-leg jeans to reflect the Evermore album cover. Finish off these outfits with brown boots, gold jewellery, and orange glittery makeup to bring the look together.

Midnights

Midnights as an album is all about glitz and glamour with a cosmic theme. Think sparkly blue mini dresses paired with star-themed accessories and glittery makeup. For a truly show-stopping look, consider a dark blue sparkly bodysuit, like the one Taylor wears for ‘Vigilante shit’ on the Eras Tour, or a big glittery coat similar to what Taylor wears during the ‘Karma' performance. If you prefer a more casual style, 70s-style jeans with a striped t-shirt in orange tones can reflect the retro vibe from the ‘Anti-hero’ music video. This is a stress-free alternative as it’s very likely you already have these items hidden in your wardrobe, or if not, a quick scroll on Vinted will have your outfit sorted in minutes. An oversized Sparkly t-shirt and hot pants would also work perfectly for this era to echo the t-shirt dresses Swift wears during the Midnights set. This is a look that blends casual comfort with dazzling style whilst also bringing flexibility as Swift is seen wearing these dresses in an array of colours.

The Tortured Poets Department

The newest addition to Taylor Swift’s discography, The Tortured Poets Department, carries a unique old Hollywood vibe as well as a classic 1800s style. Swift’s Vivienne Westwood dress that she wears for the TTPD set on the Eras Tour is iconic but alas, not financially suitable. However, luckily for us, it’s possible to recreate this look with a white corseted dress or a high-low white skirt and white top. If you want to take it further, you can write lyrics from ‘Fortnight’ over the dress to reflect the tour version and add black gloves to bring it all together. For a more casual take, a “But Daddy I Love Him” t-shirt paired with jeans or a cute skirt would be extremely fitting for this era. Alternatively, a form-fitted white top with asymmetrical detailing and black trousers can capture the sophisticated monochromatic aesthetic. For added authenticity, accessorise with dramatic black and white jewellery, or if you’re dedicated enough, you could recreate the Post Malone Face Tattoos we see Swift sporting in the ‘Fortnight’ music video.

There you have it- fashion inspirations for every single one of Taylor Swift’s albums, across three articles. From cowboy boots and summer dresses to dramatic over-the-top white gowns, the Eras Tour offers endless outfit possibilities. Explore these styles and find what best represents your favourite album and personal taste. Fashion For a Cause: Brands That Stand with Palestine and the history of fashion as a form of Activism

by Oana-Maria Moldovan For over two months, there has been an ongoing genocide war in Gaza. To simplify a long and horrific issue, the situation that started, on a larger scale, around one hundred years ago, and has only become amplified since October 7th 2023. Taking place around the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, and Israel–Lebanon border, the armed conflict is between Israel and Hamas-led Palestinian militant groups.  The problem is about “stolen” land. Said land is seen as an important holy part of both religions involved. But really, how holy can we consider a land to be, if people kill other people for it? It’s important to remember that this genocide is about three things: forced occupation, zionism, and religion. It’s also important to remember what ethnic erasure is. This terrible expresion, also known as cultural or ethnic assimilation, refers to the process by which the distinct cultural or ethnic identity of a particular group is gradually diminished or erased, often due to ext

Now What? The Aftermath of the 'Manic Pixie Dream Girl'

by Susan Moore Here is a bit about me: I am an open, excitable, creative AFAB who is also moderately attractive. I have a unique sense of personal style and a personality that on the surface can only be described as “bubbly” and “quirky”. For this reason, dating is a nightmare. To be sure, I do not have a hard time finding dates or potential suitors. The problems arise when said dates spend some time with me and decide that I am a rare specimen, and the connection they feel with me is “unlike anything they have felt before”. Then, things go one of two ways.  Either a) they decide I am too high maintenance and no longer palatable, or  b) they choose to never look further than the surface and are content to date the idea of me rather than the real me. There is something rather interesting, perhaps funny, about my situation. It is in no way unique. I have met so many people who constantly dealt with the same problem. Even funnier still, is the fact that there is a trope that simultaneousl
